New agreement will benefit the tech platform's airline partners
Intelligent voucher platform iCoupon partners with Uber to launch iCoupon Rides
Intelligent vouchering platform firm iCoupon has revealed it is now a certified partner of leading ride-hailing service, Uber.
The new partnership will offer passenger taxi services to iCoupon’s airline partners.
The iCoupon Rides initiative introduces a transportation solution that promises to be accessible to customers while providing a "consistent Uber experience" to offer flexible ride options to preferred destinations, with convenience of a return ride to the airport if required.
Airlines signed up to the programme will be able to use Uber services to transport travellers, such as passengers or crew, to a required destination, providing a streamlined method of getting them to their accommodation as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The agreement will provide an optimised and simplified process to allow passengers to reach their end destination with minimal fuss.
Travellers can expect origins and destinations to be transmitted to Uber and communicated back to the user via SMS.
The service puts the traveller firmly in control, allowing them to determine when they're ready to request a driver, all without the need for an Uber account or the Uber app.
They are notified via SMS and provided with a link to track their ride on Uber’s website.
Throughout the process, airlines are able to track the traveller’s journey to ensure their safe arrival at their destination.
iCoupon provides its airline partners with sufficient data to track this, in keeping with GDPR regulations and traveller preferences.
Richard Bye, CEO of iCoupon, said; “The launch of iCoupon Rides is going to make a real difference to the experience of passengers whose flights have been disrupted, or airline staff who need quick and easy transportation, and will help to make what can be a stressful journey a little less painful.
"Both iCoupon and Uber have a highly innovative approach to meeting the needs of their customers, and we’re looking forward to working with Uber to help make dealing with travel needs more efficient and simple for all.”
